Project: University of Lancaster, Faraday Building – New Department for Chemistry
Architect: Wilson Mason Architects
Project Value: £26m

European Doorsets are delighted to have secured the internal doorset package to the new Department of Chemistry at the University of Lancaster. The new Department will be situated within the existing Faraday Building on campus which will be completely refurbished and redeveloped to provide state-of-the-art laboratories and teaching spaces.

Within the building, the Ground Floor will be redeveloped to provide mainly office and clerical accommodation whilst the Upper Floors will house all of the laboratories, teaching areas, lecture rooms and recreational space for students to study.

170nr doorsets will be supplied in total in which most of the doors will be faced in a textured laminate, with frames primed for painting on site. There is also a requirement for a number of
doorsets to be post-formed in acrovyn PVC, which will typically be installed within the instrument rooms, prep labs and main teaching labs. These doorsets will be manufactured from our Hygienaclad range of doorsets and come complete with integral architraves.

The new building is due for completion ready for the September 2015 intake.
