New Ward Block Extension

This project consisted of powder coated steel door frames and glazed screens with laminate faced doors. The frames were fabricated in Italy, incorporated integral architrave and were supplied in two parts which simply clamp around the opening and are secured to each other by concealed screws.

An anti-bacterial product is incorporated in the powder coating for infection control purposes and all hinged frames were supplied with hinge recesses formed and threaded holes to accept 12mm machine screws.

Over sixty steel screens to match the door frames were supplied, mostly combination screens to adjoin the door frames but a number were separate. Also supplied was glass for the screens (twin glazing system) and blinds which were located between the two pieces of glass.

The doors were faced in Formica laminate with exposed hardwood edges; a number of doors in high impact areas were faced in Acrovyn for increased durability.

Approximately sixty doors to ensuites were supplied with bespoke artwork laminate with images of local flowers incorporated in the panels.

Glazed doors were fabricated using powder coated steel circular glazing beads. All doors were serviced for ironmongery and supplied with hinges fitted. Ironmongery supply was part of our order and was closely matched to the existing hospital hardware.
